Reference

The reference component allows you to reference content from one page in AEM onto another. This function prevents content from needing to be updated or maintained in multiple places. When the owner of the original content makes updates on their page, other pages that reference that content will be updated automatically. 

1. Add a reference component to the page you would like to reference already existing content. 
2. Select the component and use the wrench tool to open the dialog box. 
3. Use the page picker (folder and magnifying glass icon) to select the page you would like to reference content from. 
4. The dialog box will populate with a list of components on the page. Select the component you would like to reference. Only one component can be selected at a time. If you want to reference more than one component, you'll create references for each one.
