Student Creative Agency
Beginning in January of 2023, UC is launching a new in-house, student-powered creative agency to work on real-world marketing campaigns and projects for the institution. This student talent will span Marketing, Creative Design, Content Creation, Photo/Video, and Social Media.

Are you a passionate Bearcat who is interested in marketing, design, or social media?
Through this program, University of Cincinnati interns will work on a variety of projects within UC’s central Marketing + Communications department to grow the UC brand and reputation, and tell the authentic student story, and gain paid, part-time work experience.
Length of program: Spring 2023 semester, with opportunity to continue
Expected time commitment: 10-20 hours per week.
Must be a current UC student

Open Roles
You Will
- Create content. Ideate and produce digital content that resonates with prospective and current student audiences and helps tell UC’s story in an authentic way.
- Nurture communities. You’ll respond to and engage with our audiences, and identify opportunities for collaborations across campus.
- Make data-driven decisions. You’ll measure audience engagement and use the results to inform future content.
- Monitor. You’ll follow trends in social media and make suggestions based on how and where content is being consumed.
- Publish content. You’ll help build and follow an editorial calendar to publish video and other assets across social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

You Will
- Support Marketing staff in day-to-day marketing maintenance and creative campaign development, including but not limited to creating concepts, writing copy for advertisements and landing pages, and help with reporting/analytics of paid campaigns
- Create digital blogs to highlight the student experience
- Collaborate across departments, working with creative and social media teams on various marketing efforts

- Previous internship or comparable experience in a related field preferred
You Will
- Collaborate with UC’s Marketing + Brand team to develop creative concepts
- Create marketing toolkit assets
- Coordinate, develop, and see to production, print and digital media that helps the University meaningfully engage with its many audiences
- Generate, proofread and edit collateral that leverages and maintains design standards as determined by UC brand guidelines
- Act as a steward of the UC brand, utilizing knowledge of current graphic design software to produce ADA-compliant, high-impact designs.
What You Bring to the Role
- Knowledge of print production basics
- Knowledge of design for print and digital assets/collateral
- Fundamental understanding of typography and typesetting
- Experience with compositional layout
- Ability to apply purpose and strategy to design
- Ability to create within the scope of brand rules
- Comfort in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge of Adobe Express, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint a plus
- Willingness to ask for help and clarification
- Able to take direction
- Photo researching (training provided)
- Archiving (training provided)
You Will
- Create visual assets that help convey the emotion, pride, and story of the university, as well as various colleges/departments.
- Help create stock video clips by sorting and editing footage from our library
- Help edit video productions
- Assist on-site with video (and potentially photo) shoots
- File video assets into our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
- Work with us to strategize video opportunities for multiple platforms, including web, social media, etc.
- Will learn about working with video assets in a shared/server environment
- Will develop video editing skills
- Will learn DAM best practices, how to manage assets at an enterprise level
What You Bring to the Role
- Knowledge and/or experience in Adobe Premiere is preferred
- The work required may shift day to day, so flexibility and adaptability are essential
- Previous internship or comparable experience in a related field preferred
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to bring ideas for improved outcomes to our team
