The application for University Housing and other related deadlines typically follow a cycle each year. The table below is intended to help you plan, whether you are still deciding to come to UC, you've already confirmed admission, you're transferring or you're a current resident.
Annual Housing Timeline
The timeline below represents typical weeks applications open and deadlines occur.

First-year and new students will be assigned to their building, room and bed space in one of the following communities:

Current residents seeking to continue living in university housing will be able to select from the following communities:

First-Year Application Process

Access The Housing Application
- Starting January 22, access the housing application after accepting Admission to the university.
- First-year students residing outside a 50-mile radius of the Uptown campus are required to live in university housing.
Complete Application Steps
- Submit and verify general information through the user-friendly application interface.
- Select your meal plan; the All-Access meal plan is mandatory for first-year residential students.
- First-year residential status is determined by your Tuition Guarantee Cohort in Catalyst, not college credit hours earned.
- Accept Housing Terms & Conditions.
- Submit a non-refundable $150 application fee. Applications are not considered complete until the fee is paid.
- Allow up to three business days after accepting admission for access to the housing application.
- May 3, at 5 p.m., is the priority deadline for submitting a housing application. Students who submit after this date are still eligible for housing, but may be subject to the waitlist process.
Special Considerations
- If you're under 18, review the Proxy Signature video.
- Pell-eligible students may qualify for a fee waiver. Contact university housing if your application shows the fee as required.

- If you applied in the fall 2024 semester without receiving a housing assignment, do not pay the application fee again. Contact our office to have the fee waived.
- The spring application has no set deadline and remains open as long as space permits. Late submissions are eligible but may enter the waitlist process if the application closes.
Assignment Timeline
- Beginning mid-December, students applying for spring semester 2025 housing will receive information regarding their specific assignment.
- Assignments will continue until move-in, accounting for cancellations and available space.
- January 12, 2025, marks the spring move-in date. Students needing early move-in should submit an Early Arrival Request form found in the housing portal.
